Day 1

Arrival in Yerevan – transfer to the selected hotel

Arrival in Yerevan - transfer to the selected hotel.

Day 2

Yerevan City photo tour

Breakfast at the hotel. City tour where you can capture the beauty and the architecture of old and at the same time modern city Yerevan. Visit to Vernissage (Armenian Craft Market open only on Saturdays and Sundays) and Yerevan Central Fruit and Vegetable Market for photo shooting. Sightseeing including City center, Republic square, State University, City panorama, Mother Armenia Monument, Parliament, President’s Palace, Opera, Sports & Concert Complex.

Visit to Matenadaran (depository for ancient manuscripts, the collection of which is one of the biggest in the world including manuscripts from 7th century). Taking photos is for extra charge.

Visit to Cascade complex, which is considered the modern art center of Yerevan, with art pieces displayed throughout the whole area: the boulevard and up the stairs, from top of which you can enjoy the panoramic view on the city and Mountain Ararat. Cascade is home to Cafesjan modern art museum. From the top of Cascade you can have the opportunity to make impressive photos of City Panorama with Ararat Mountain at the background. It is also a popular place for open air concerts at summer season. In the evening enjoy Fountain Show in the Republic Square.

Day 3

Yerevan – Etchmiadzin – St. Hrispsime Church – St Gayane Church – Zvartnots – Yerevan Zoo

Breakfast at the hotel. Drive to Etchmiadzin, the spiritual and administrative center of Armenian Apostolic Church – “Armenian Vatican”. Visit to Etchmiadzin Cathedral (4th c.), the museum, St. Hripsime’s Church (7th c.), ruins of Zvartnots temple (7th c.), (UNESCO World Heritage list 2000) with the Ararat mountain at background. Drive back to Yerevan.

Visit to one of the attraction places of Yerevan: Yerevan ZOO which is a home of more than 2749 individuals. Here you can catch exciting shoots of different animals brought from different parts of the world. Here you can also meet the Armenian brown bears, Bezoar goats, vipers, the Armenian mouflon, and black vultures.

Day 4

Yerevan – Ararat valley – Khor Virap – Noravank – Zorats Karer – Goris

Breakfast at the hotel. Early drive to Ararat valley to capture sunrise at Khor Virap Church: one of the holy places for the Christian world. It is also the best point to enjoy the most spectacular view of the gorgeous biblical mountain Ararat shining with its two white peaks. Pope Francis during his visit, which he named “Visit to a first Christian Nation” to Armenia in July, 2016 made a special trip here to symbolize peace and tolerance.

Drive through the spectacular canyon between the red rocks toward Noravank Monastery (13th c). There is such an incredibly beautiful scenery along the road to Noravank that the visitors cannot resist stepping out of the vehicle and walk all the way to the Monastery with their cameras to enjoy and record the unique bizarre-shaped precipitous red cliffs.

Drive to Zorats Karer “Amenian Stonehenge” which is proved to be one of the oldest, observatories in the world.

Drive to Goris, a city with unique architecture in natural fortress with rocks. In the evening the rocks acquire a fairytale-like view under the special lighting, which is an excellent occasion to capture some impressive night shoots.

Day 5

Goris – Khndzoresk – Tatev – Shaqe Waterfall – Selim Pass – Jermuk

Breakfast at the hotel. Drive to the ancient cave-city Khndzoresk, where you can shoot ancient caves where people lived 100 years ago. Drive to Tatev Monastery, enjoying spectacular view of the scenery around, passing Devil’s bridge. View of recently constructed rope way – the longest in the world (5,7 km), recorded in Guinnes record book. On way stop for taking shoots of Vorotan gorge.

Visit to Shaqe Waterfall one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Armenia. Drive to Jermuk - Spa Resort of Armenia. O/N in Jermuk.

Day 6

Jermuk walking tour – Selim pass – Jewish Cemetery – Sevan

Breakfast in the hotel. Walking tour in Jermuk: a town with a waterfall, natural bridges, lake and forests with walking trails. Along with this, Jermuk is a well-known spa resort famous for the hot mineral springs. The blue sky, fancy outlines of mountainous ridges, the “deaf” noise of the river in the deep canyon, crispy weather, cascade of artificial ponds and the waterfall will welcome you to have a beautiful rest. Our route will lie through all this beauty of mineral springs, where we can sip the water. After that we go down to the waterfall in canyon.

Drive to Yeghegis village, the old settlement of Jewish community that came to Armenia from Persia in XIII - XIV cc. Visit to the cemetery located nearby with 62 tombstones in Jewish and Aramaic languages, dated from the 50th of XIII century to the beginning of XIV century.

Drive to Sevan via Selim Carvanserai, which was used for having a rest by Silk Road caravans.

Day 7

Sevan – Dilijan – Haghartsin – Yerevan

Breakfast at the hotel. Climb on Akhtamar peninsula from where the fascinating view on the Lake is opened. Visit Sevanavank monastery, which stands in its greatness on the peninsula overlooking the lake for centuries.

Drive to mountainous resort Dilijan, or so called “Armenian Switzerland”, which is well-known for its forests as well as for its mysterious flora and fauna. During the drive you can enjoy the unbelievable change of the surrounding environment and land shaft from the mountainous lake to the green and rich forest mountains. Small walking city tour in Dilijan: visit to handicrafts’ street, where you can watch the preparation of different national souvenirs from wood, stone and ceramics. Here you will have the opportunity to take photos of masters during their work and experience local life.

Visit to Haghartsin Monastery dating back to 11-13th century representing a magnificent piece of history, culture and architecture. Appearing unexpectedly, out of the dense forests, in front of the visitors, the Monastery creates a magical impression of a lost world.

Day 8

Yerevan – Garni – Geghard – Carpet Factory – Yerevan

Breakfast at the hotel. Drive to the only remaining pagan temple in Armenia devoted to the God of Sun – Myrth, in Garni, built in 77 AD by King Trdat (Arshakid Dynasty). Photo stop at Charentc Arc, from where a fascinating view opens on Ararat mountain. The temple is Greco-Roman style with characteristic pillars. It stands proudly on a rocky ridge with a deep canyon presenting a beautiful view. The temple was a summer residence for Arshakid dynasty. Visit to the ruins of Royal Palace and Royal bath-house nearby. Canyon of Garni -magnificent and outstanding scene which creates the image of falling crags. It obtained the name "Symphony of Stones" due to its view. The fantastic landscape of Garni canyon shakes the human imagination. Optional: family hosted lunch in village house with watching of “Lavash” (Armenian traditional flat bread baked in stone-make oven) making process, testing authentic Armenian food, get acquainted with local village life.

Drive to the unique caved temple St. Geghard (12th -13th cc.), the name of which means “holy spear” in the honor of the long-preserved spear, the same spear that pierced the body of crucified Christ. It is now exhibited in the museum of Etchmiadzin Cathedral. Geghard Monastery is included in the UNESCO World Heritage list (2000). Visit to Armenian handmade carpet factory and watch carpet hand-making process.

Day 9

Yerevan – Amberd – Saghmosavank – Aragats/ Qari Lake/ – Yerevan

Breakfast at the hotel. Trip to the village Oshakan via town Ashtarak. Visit to the Church St. Mesrop Mashtots, the inventor of Armenian Alphabet, and his gravestone. Visit to Alphabet Park, a location where all letters of Armenian alphabet made from tuff of human-size are scattered around volcanic stones. Visit to Amberd fortress (11th-13th cc.) – the residence of Pahlavuni princes built on the slopes of Mt. Aragats at 2,300 meters above the sea level.

Visit to Saghmosavank monastery. The monastery complexes of Saghmosavank are on the edge of the precipitous gorge of the Kasakh River. Many richly ornamented stone crosses have been preserved on the territory of the monasteries. Trip to Aragats Mountain where we can take photos of magnificent Qari Lake in the heights of Aragats Mountain.

Drive back to Yerevan. O/N in Yerevan.

Day 10

Yerevan Photo walking tour – Botanical Garden – Abovyan Street – Arami Steet – Yerevan Central Station

Breakfast at the hotel. Yerevan walking tour across the oldest streets of the city with breathing history inside: Abovyan Street and Arami Street. Visit to Yerevan Botanical Garden for photo soothing. After the visit we will continue to Yerevan Central Station for making thematic photos of an incredible architecture and old fashioned retro photography.

Transfer to airport. Departure
