Visit the Memorial to Victims of Genocide in 1915 in memory of 1.5 million Armenians exterminated in the territory of Western Armenia and Ottoman Empire. A visit to the Museum of Genocide.
Visit to Cascade complex, which is considered the modern art center of Yerevan, with art pieces displayed throughout the whole area: the boulevard and up the stairs, from top of which you can enjoy the panoramic view on the city and Mountain Ararat. Cascade is home to Cafesjan modern art museum. This place becomes even more charming in the evenings, when it is full of people, both locals and tourists from all over the world, enjoying the magic and the warmth of the capital. You will enjoy spending time in one of the cozy open-air cafes surrounded by beautiful sculptures, redolent flowers shining brightly with magic colors. It is also a popular place for open air concerts at summer season.
Visit to Matenadaran (depository for ancient manuscripts, the collection of which is one of the biggest in the world). This outstanding collection includes manuscripts dating from 7th century and is widely appreciated by history and art amateurs and professionals. The collection includes original manuscripts in Arabic, Persian, Greek, Latin, Ethiopian, Indian, Japanese and other languages.
Visit to the ruins of the fortress of Erebuni founded by Urartian king Argishti I in 782 BC and a visit to the Erebuni museum (1968.) with artefacts from Urartian era are displayed. The fortress played an important role in the life of the Armenian state.
Visit to the National History Museum, which presents about 400,000 items of national heritage, founded on the territory of Armenia. Further visit to the Shengavit Museum-Reserve - one of the most significant archaeological sites in Armenia representing early Bronze Age period.
A trip to the hill Karmir Blur (in Armenian language - "Red Hill"). On the territory of Karmir Bloor remains of ancient settlements were found including the Urartian city - fortress Teishebaini and pre - urartian settlements of Eneolithic period (XIII-VIIIV BC).

Option: Very interesting one hour tour around Armenian brandy factory offers tourists familiarization with the history of the plant, process of brandy preparation, showrooms and halls of storages. Visitors will also have degustation of 2 types of brandy of different age in degustation hall. Brandy shop at the factory territory will be available for purchasing of this famous Armenian brandy directly from the factory.
Breakfast at the hotel. Trip to the village Lchashen located on the shore of the lake Sevan, which is one of the most important archaeological sites in Armenia. As a result of water level decreasment in the lake Sevan, a field of ancient graves has been founded. During excavations the fortress of Lchashen was discovered, the ancient ruins of the city, as well as the rich burial. Interesting finding was the cuneiform of Urartu King Argishti I, the gold frog and lots of gold jewelry dating back to the II millennium BC.
Avisit to the medieval fortress Berdkunk based in I-II centuries BC. Excursion to Odzaberd (translated from Armenian as "Snake fortress"). On the wall of the fortress were the words of Urartian king Rusa I craved: "I built this fortress in honor of the god of thunderstorms." During the excavations a castle, citadel, some ancient settlements, a construction similar to a wine cellar and a large necropolis with burials were discovered.
Passage through Selim mountain pass, located at an altitude of 2500 m. In the ancient times, the Great Silk Road passed through Selim Pass. Drive to Goris. Overnight in Goris.
Breakfast at the hotel. Trip to the village Angeghakot. Visit to the excavations of the ancient settlement of Godedzor where sealing wax was found. Trip to Karahunj or Zorats Karer - to the ancient (7500 years old) observatory in the world, similar to the English Stonehenge. Arranged in the form of two rings of stones indicating the use of astrological observations, which is a proof that in Armenia people were well acquainted with astrology in ancient times. On the way visit local winery in Areni village - wine testing. Areni used to be one of the centers of wine production in Armenia. Recent archeological findings makes place worldwide famous. In September 2010, archaeologists discovered a 6,100-year-old 5 winery and wine cellar in Areni (Vayots Dzor province) in Armenia. Within the underground wine cellar, a wine press for stomping grapes, fermentation and storage containers, drinking cups, grape vines, skins, and seeds were found. This is the earliest winery and wine cellar found to date. The findings indicated large scale wine production, quite possibly the earliest retail winery. These findings indicate a high level of wine in those days in the territory of Armenia. During the excavations a large hairpin, a small dagger (the size of a palm), as well as vessels for wine storage, oven, scraps of manuscripts in Armenian and Persian languages and bones of animals, and the oldest leather shoe in the world were found. Drive to monument of Noravank. There is such an incredibly beautiful scenery along the road to Noravank that the visitors can not resist stepping out of the vehicle and walk all the way to the Monastery with their cameras to enjoy and record the unique bizarre-shaped precipitous red cliffs. The most ancient monument of Noravank is St. Karapet Church (IX - X cc.). The Church, completed in 1339, is said to be the masterpiece of Momik, a talented sculptor and a miniaturist. The burial site of the Orbelian dynasty (XIII - XIV cc.) is located north to the main temple. Тhe Church decorations include: Mother of God, the Father, crucifixion of Christ, as well as number of engraved stonecrosses. Drive to Khor Virap - a place of pilgrimage for Armenians all over the world. According to history annals, Armenian pagan king Trdat imprisoned Saint Gregory the Illuminator in a cave which became known as Khor Virap (Deep Hole). Here you can also see the closest and most spectacular view of the gorgeous biblical mountain Ararat (where Noah's ark has landed according to Bible) shining with its two white peaks. From this area Ararat is so near that one feels he can touch those two peaks of the mountain.Overnight in Yerevan
Breakfast at the hotel. A trip to Karashamb where a necropolis was discovered. During the excavation of a Bronze Age burial bronze cup was found with inlays, as well as jewelry made of metal and bronze, weapons, symbols of power, objects of porcelain (dishes, ornaments), dated XIX-XVIII centuries. BC. Archaeologists have found a tomb belonging in all probability, the head of the tribe. An interesting fact was the discovery of a large number of different vessels for rituals. Drive to the only remaining pagan temple in Armenia devoted to the God of Sun – Myrth, in Garni, built in 77AD by King Trdat (Arshakid Dynasty). The temple is Greco-Roman style with characteristic pillars. It stands proudly on a rocky ridge with a deep canyon presenting a beautiful view. The temple was a summer residence for Arshakid dynasty. Visit to the ruins of Royal Palace and Royal bath-house nearby. Canyon of Garni -magnificent and outstanding scene which creates the image of falling crags. It obtained the name "Symphony of Stones" due to its view. The fantastic landscape of Garni canyon shakes the human imagination. Drive to the unique caved temple St. Geghard (12th -13thcc.), the name of which means “holy spear” in the honor of the long-preserved spear, the same spear that pierced the body of crucified Christ. It is now exhibited in the museum of Etchmiadzin Cathedral. Geghard Monastery is included in the UNESCO World Heritage list (2000). The monastery is hidden in the majestic rocks and this scene creates an impression that the rocks have been protecting the ancient monastery for ages.

Breakfast at the hotel. Trip to Ashtarak. One of the famous historical monuments of Ashtarak is a unique three-arch bridge across Kasakh river (XVII century). Next trip to the village Aghtsk where pagan and Christian kings Arshakuni dynasty were buried. A trip to the historical and cultural reserve Agarak. The excavations on the territory of Agarak indicate a settlement of the Bronze Age. On the territory of the ancient necropolis was found, which can be seen carved into the stone narrow niches. On the south side of the rock artifacts from Urartu period were found such as Urartian seal and ceramic products. A trip to the village Shamiram, where you can see the ruins of buildings and ancient necropolis. From Shamiram to Kosha the whole field is filled with even more ancient graves. A trip to the Aruch village located near Yerevan. On the territory of Aruch there is a monastic complex, which served as a winter haven for Armenian Royal Army of VII-th century. The walls of the church were covered with frescoes, both inside and outside. Some frescoes have survived. To the east of the village you can see a medieval castle (III - V century AD). Near the village the Caravanserai is located(XII-XIV c.). A trip to Oshakan,a territory rich with numerous archaeological monuments. In the middle of the village there is a hill "Didi cond 'with the monuments of different eras. On the slopes of the hill there are more than 1,000 tombs of the Iron Age and the Urartu period. On the western slope of the hill is the medieval burial ground (on the gravestones there is a preserved epitaph) and numerous khachkars. Tour to the main sights of the village Oshakan - the Church of St. Mesrop Mashtots. Originally a small chapel was built over the grave of Mashtots (creator of Armenian alphabet), and in the XIX century in its place was erected the temple which has been preserved to our days. Breakfast at the hotel. Trip to the village Musaler, where the monument symbolizing the heroic self-defense of Musaler during the Armenian Genocide in 1915 is placed. Drive to Etchmiadzin City, which is used to be the ancient capital of Armenia. Since 4th century, it is the largest religious center, the residency of Catholicos of All Armenians. Etchmiadzin cathedral is one of the ancient churches in the Christian world, included in the UNESCO World Heritage List (2000), it is the center of Armenian Apostolic Church. It was founded in 301 A.D. by St. Gregory the Illuminator. Later, it was rebuilt and currently it stands as a complex including the Cathedral, Spiritual Academy, residency of the Catholicos of all Armenians, Synod of Armenian Church and a library. The museum of the Cathedral, located behind the Altar, has collection of religious artifacts about Holy Mass, subjects made of gold, silver, precious stones, decorations, colossal silver boiler for making the myrrh and legendary Holy spear. Before entering in the town of Echmiadzin visit the majestic St. Hripsime Church. The legend of Hripsime dates from the early days of Christianity. Hripsime fled to Armenia to escape persecution by the Roman Emperor Diocletian. A beautiful but totally devoted follower of Christ, Hripsime refused to marry the pagan Armenian King Tirdat III when ordered, and chose the death of a martyr. A small chapel was erected over the spot where she was murdered. In the 7th century a wondrous church - a masterpiece of Armenian architecture - was built in its place by order of Catholicos Komitas. A trip to one of the architectural wonders of Armenia: Zvartnots temple (641-661 BC) the temple of "Vigil Forces", which got its name from the word "Zwart", which translated from Armenian means "joyful and beautiful." The remaining ruins give an idea of the rare beauty of this temple. The temple is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site (2000). Visit to the Museum-Reserve Metsamor. The fortress-settlement of Metsamor is located in the center of the Ararat plain. Variety of coins found in the territory during the excavation, confirms that the Metsamor for centuries has been one of the centers of trade routes. Trip to the ruins of the ancient city state of Urartu - Argishtikhinili, which was founded during the reign of Argishti I and named in his honor (VIII-VI century BC...). Excursion to the ethnographic museum "Sardarapat" where items related to the cultural heritage of the Armenian people from ancient times to the present day, archaeological and ethnographic objects of ancient and medieval arts and crafts, as well as religious relics are stored.
