Vanadzor and Botanical garden
Vanadzor is the third largest cities in Armenia, located in the Northern part of the country, 130 km from the Capital. History of the city is dated back to Stone age. Town was destroyed several times during wars with Turks 13 c., and later in 1806 during Russo-Persian war. Industrialization of the city took place in 20th c, and it became centre of chemical industry of the former Soviet Union.
Vanadzor Botanical garden was constructed at the beginning of 20th century. It covers territory of 12 ha, and is hosting 600 species of plants.
